Landscape Operations Manager

Position Description: We are currently seeking a full-time Supervising Operations Manager to help oversee our Residential and Commercial Landscape Installation Division. This position offers the opportunity to both manage Landscape Operations and effect division growth and profitability. Provides direction and leadership to ensure effective operations, complete customer satisfaction and long-term sustainable growth.

This position will be located in our Charlotte, NC office.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operations – Required to manage day to day operations with little supervision, which includes:

  • Work with other company management to establish overall objectives regarding sales, production, profit, quality, staff development and ensure achievement.
  • Prepare crews each morning (ensure that they have correct supplies for work at hand, directions to job site, etc.).
  • Prepare weekly schedules and adjust according to delays (weather, equipment failure, etc.).
  • Access drainage, plant/tree, sod issues and have the ability to accurately estimate solutions to these issues.
  • Manage and procure all Purchase Orders or Change Orders relevant to work.
  • Ensure quality control by visiting properties and inspecting work to ensure Best Practices & Procedures are being met.
  • Meet with clients to field complaints and questions to ensure positive relationships.
  • Hire and train new crew members when needed and perpetuate employee compliance and understanding of all company policies.
  • Monitor financial progress of the division to ensure profitability.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 2 years + experience Managing in the Landscape Installation field preferred

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred:

  • Excellent leadership skills and have the aptitude to train, manage and develop employeesMust be highly proficient in communication, both written

Landscape Maintenance Account Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION 

We are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Account Manager to oversee our Residential and Commercial Landscape properties. This position offers the opportunity to both assist in managing maintenance operations and effect division growth through new sales.
This position will be located in our Charlotte, NC office.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operations – Required to manage day to day operations with little supervision, which includes:

  • Prepare assigned crews each morning (ensure that they have correct supplies for work at hand, directions to job site, etc)
  • Prepare weekly route schedules for assigned crews and adjust according to delays (weather, equipment failure, etc)
  • Recommend schedules for fertilizations, pesticide applications, pine needle and mulch applications, seasonal flower replacements, so forth, order supplies needed, and assist in implementing schedule as per contracts.
  • Ensure quality control by visiting properties and inspecting work.
  • Convey quality control issues at assigned properties to appropriate crews via weekly audit sheets
  • Meet with clients to field complaints and questions
  • Monitor irrigation requirements at assigned properties and adjust as necessary

 

 

Sales

  • Meet with existing clients to ascertain their needs and provide suggestions for improvements around the property
  • Calculate square footages, etc. for use in drawing up proposals
  • Have a clear understanding of the different facets of landscape maintenance, both commercial and residential, and be able to communicate these services to the client
  • Write up formal proposals using excel template with an understating of profit margins, overhead, etc.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 2 years + experience managing in the Landscape/Maintenance field preferred

Landscape Designer

Position Description:

We are currently seeking a full-time Landscape Designer to fill a Residential Landscape Sales position. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including the design of hardscapes and outdoor living areas as well as dynamic landscape designs. Duties also include bidding Commercial Landscape projects for apartment buildings, hospitals, parking lots and the like.
This position will be located in our Charlotte, NC office.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Meet with customers to walk their property and get a sense of what they want from a landscape design
  • Prepare design plans using Dynascape and work through revisions with client based on their feedback
  • Prepare proposal for landscape, irrigation, hardscapes, etc. based on landscape design plan. Pull from the knowledge of other operation managers to help price the scopes of work in their division (irrigation, hardscapes, maintenance). Price plant material and hard-goods (mulch, soil, etc.) from local vendors for best pricing option
  • Coordinate plan installation with operation managers once final revision is agreed to and deposit obtained
  • Sets up interviews with new builders and homeowners to bring in new lines of business for the Residential Landscape Department

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Design or Bachelor’s Degree in related field (project planning, horticulture, etc). Associates in Horticulture Technology also acceptable

-and/or-

  • 1 – 3 years of professional office experience

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of Dynascape, preferred. Knowledge of other design software (SketchUp, etc.) also a plus. Dynascape is our preferred software, but we offer training to anyone with experience on alternate design software. If no experience, please have a list of programs you are proficient.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Graphic skills, both hand and computer generated
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills. This is a sales position as well as design.
  • Ability to price a designed plan is a definite plus. Ability to calculate quantity of material needed is a particular plus.
  • General knowledge of plant materials commonly used in the Charlotte region
  • General knowledge of construction materials (pavers, irrigation heads, etc) and methods of assembly preferred, but not compulsory
  • General knowledge of grading and drainage design preferred, but not compulsory
  • Comfortable in working well with a team, as well as being an individual performer
